Youngsook Park Harmsen

Youngsook Park Harmsen is Director of Public Diplomacy at the Australian Embassy in Seoul, President and founder of the Korean Foster Care Association, and Chair of the Korea Node of The Millennium Project. She has a vast experience in diplomacy, teaching, and journalism. She has held several high positions for government agencies and NGOs, including: Member of the Korean Youth Commission (Vice-Ministerial level position); Maritime Ministry Adviser; member of the Annual Korean National Award Committee; Korean Government Policy Coordinator for Children; Chair of the International Relations Committee, Korean National Social Workers Association; and member of the Board of the Korean Volunteers Forum. She is the author of a large number of publications on a vast variety of subjects, and received many prestigious awards for her contributions to the Korean foster care and family development.
