Osmo Kuusi
Ph.D. Osmo Kuusi is an expert in futures studies, innovation studies, foresight, and technology assessment. He is Associate Professor in futures and innovation studies at Aalto University and the Scientific Adviser of the Futures Research Centre in Turku. He has been instructor or official evaluator of doctoral theses, editor of main introductory books concerning futures studies made in Finland, and has been member of the board and president or of the Finnish Society for Futures Studies. During his carrier, Kuusi has worked for many private and public organizations e.g. the Statistics of Finland, the Prime Minister’s Office of Finland, the Academy of Finland, VATT (Government Institute for Economic Research), the Finnish Innovation Fund (Sitra), and as Scientific Adviser for technology assessment and foresight in the Committee for the Future of the Parliament of Finland. In 2012, the Committee for the Future ordered the study “Future radical technologies” from the What Futures Ltd. led and own by Kuusi.
