Geci Karuri-Sebina

Geci Karuri-Sebina is Executive Manager at the South African Cities Network. Prior to this she was a Specialist at the South Africa National Treasury Department's Neighborhood Development Programme under the Budget Office. She has worked with numerous organizations including the Council for Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), Human Science Research Council (HSRC), and the Advanced Policy Institute of the then- UCLA School of Public Policy and Social Research in Los Angeles, California. Ms. Sebina also serves as Chair of the South African Node of the Millennium Project, an associate for the Institute for Economic Research on Innovation, and was recently appointed as a Council Member on the South African Council for Planners. Ms. Sebina holds Masters degrees in Urban Planning and in Architecture & Urban Design from the University of California Los Angeles, and is currently a doctoral candidate in planning and innovation studies at Wits University.
